ULTRA VOILET SYSTEM

Ultraviolet (UV) treatment is a widely recognized and proven method of disinfection of water. It is a physical treatment & doesn’t alter the water chemistry. UV adds nothing to the water such as undesirable color, odor, taste or flavor and neither does it generate harmful by-products.

Ultraviolet light deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. The UV wave length of between 240 – 280nm possesses the greatest germicidal effectiveness, which penetrates the microorganism cell membrane to destroy the DNA molecules, thus preventing cell replication

For the past 100 years science has recognized the bactericidal effects of the ultraviolet area of the electromagnetic spectrum. The specific wavelengths responsible for this reaction are situated between 240 – 280 nanometers (referred to as nm) with a peak wavelength of 253.7 nm and are known as UV-C.

The degree of UV inactivation of pathogens is directly proportional to the UV dose applied to the water. UV dose is the product of UV light intensity and exposure time and is expressed in mJ/cm2. NSF International has established a UV dose of 40 mJ/cm2 as the minimum UV dose required to ensure that all bacteria, viruses, Giardia and Cryptosporidium are killed / inactivated to a safe level.

The Ultraviolet units are with the finest 316 Stainless Steel, Electro polished internally as well as externally for years of corrosion free service. The system allows water to come in contact with Ultra Violet rays having 30,000 micro watts second/cm2 UV dosage & 2537 Angstrom (254 nm) units wavelength. The silica quartz jacket provides 100% efficiency due to its pure crystal-clear transparency as compared to the Teflon tubes which has only 25% transparency.

  • More effective against viruses than chlorine – Chlorine is becoming less acceptable because of harmful byproducts, handling problems, & risk of overdosing.
  • Immediate treatment process, no need for holding tanks, & retention times, so footprint is small.
  • Extremely economical due to low capital, operational & maintenance costs.
  • No chemicals added to the water supply – resulting in no byproducts & no need for specialized storage requirements
  • No change in taste, odor, pH, conductivity of water
  • Automatic operation
  • Simplicity and ease of maintenance, periodic cleaning, and annual lamp replacement, no moving parts to wear out
  • Easy installation, only two water connections and a power connection
  • Compatible with any water treatment processes, (i.e. RO, filtration, and softening).

Different types of Filter Media are used depending on the raw water quality and the treated water quality required.

The Filter sand is composed of sub-angular, hard, durable, and dense grains of predominately siliceous material. Extracted from a clean glacial sand deposit, the filter Sand we use has physical properties make it among the finest available in the world for filtration applications.

Simplisol Technologies water filter sand is washed, clean dried, and screened to meet exacting specifications with strict adherence to quality control

The Gravel and water filter pebble is composed of sub-angular, hard, durable, and dense grains of predominately siliceous material. Extracted from a clean glacial deposit, the Gravel and Pebble’s we use has physical properties make it among the finest available in the world for water filtration applications.

Simplisol Technologies water filter gravel is washed, kiln dried, and screened to meet exact in g specifications with strict adherence to quality control.

Anthracite literally “a type of coal”, is a hard, compact variety of mineral coal that has a high luster. It has the highest carbon count and contains the fewest impurities of all coals, despite its lower calorific content.

Anthracite is the most metamorphosed type of coal (but still represents low-grade metamorphism), in which the carbon content is between 92% and 98%.

Anthracite media is hydraulically classified to reduce foreign mineral matter and to lower ash content. The water filtration media is then screened and washed to ensure suitability for water filtration purpose. Anthracite characteristically produces reliable improvements in turbidity removal, mostly due to better solids holding capacity. Additionally, low uniformity coefficient media improves flow

Activated Carbon for Water Purification, take the excellent coconut shell as material, processed physical way, after high temperature steaming to make them activation. It does not contain any harmful soluble organic or inorganic matter. The activated carbon is considered superior to those obtained from other sources mainly because of small macrospores structure which renders it more effective for the adsorption of gas/ vapor and for the removal of Colour and odour of compounds.

We also supply other Media like the Iron Removal & Resins for Water Softener & DM Systems
