Filtration is any of various mechanical, physical or biological operations that separates solids from fluids (liquids or gases) by adding a medium through which only the fluid can pass. The fluid that passes through is called the filtrate. Filters can be used for suspended solids removal, removal of organics, odour, oil & grease, Iron etc. by selecting the right type of medium for filtration. The Systems are designed based on type of application, site conditions and designed to meet the stringent requirements of clients. The Filter housing are offered with different M.O.C like FRP, MS, Stainless Steel etc. The Systems are fully Automatic, Manually Operated, Operated with Multiport Valve or Remotely Operated / Controlled.
The Filtration Principle is Depth Filtration. The Principal Media in these filters is Quartz Grade Sand. Other supporting Media include Pebbles of various sizes, Crushed Gravel and Silex. Multi‐Media Filter are used as a pre-filter to protect downstream treatment equipment from becoming plugged or fouled. It reduce the level of suspended solids (turbidity) in incoming feed water. Incoming feed water that is high in suspended solids can cause a high pressure drop and reduce the effectiveness of downstream filtration equipment such as reverse osmosis membranes and ion exchange beds.
A water multimedia filter is used to reduce the level of SDI (Silt Density Index), TSS (Total Suspended Solids) in the incoming feed water. Suspended solids consist of small particles such as silt, clay, grit, organic matter, algae and other microorganisms. MMF are used as a pre-filter to the following industries Process water treatment systems, Drinking water treatment systems and Sewage & wastewater treatment plants.
Available in two options-Automatic and Manual Multimedia Filter (MMF) from Simplisol equipment solutions. The FRP tanks can be used in corrosive environment, Light weight and easy to install and operate. Also rugged piping are among the Unique Features of this product.
